The FreeBuds 4 has a softly curved 21.2mm circular case that weighs 38 grams, which is significantly less than its predecessors. The casing can play for up to 22 hours, while the buds can last for up to 4 hours. With ANC turned on, this duration is cut in half to 2.5 hours.
When you take them out of the case, you’re greeted by their silver frost color scheme (unless you choose the white pair), which immediately distinguishes them from other earbuds on the market. Initially, one may feel apprehensive about the materials, but it feels pleasantly soft in the ear, rests comfortably, and does not slip. They’re fortunate in that they’re manufactured in an open-fit form, bucking the norm of earbuds that have to be tucked all the way into your ears.
AUDIO QUALITY AND CONTORL
The audio quality, on the other hand, quickly dispelled whatever misgivings one may have. It has undoubtedly earned the self-proclaimed title of “studio-grade sound” for a small pair of earbuds. A composite diaphragm made of Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) supports a frequency range of up to 40kHz, resulting in the rich and full treble. A 14.3mm dynamic driver brings the bass to the party, which, combined with other upgrades, results in a significant increase in bass over the FreeBuds 3.
These headphones are really easy to pair. Simply open the charging case, and you’ll be prompted to pair with HUAWEI FreeBuds 4i via a pop-up notification. it is shocking how many Bluetooth pairing options Huawei was able to make functional behind a variety of button combinations. Some of which is that the audio is controlled remotely by capacitive sensors on the stems of the earphones. Volume is controlled by swiping up and down, stopping and playing is done with a double-tap, and turning on the ANC is done by pressing and holding.

The sensors in HUAWEI FreeBuds 4i actively detect and reduce ambient noise. You may always be engrossed in the listening to what you love, no matter where you are. The slit-duct architecture of the dual-mic system significantly reduces exterior wind noise. Even in a congested area, the proprietary beamforming technology combined with AI noise reduction technology can pick up your speech more accurately. On every call, hear and be heard loud and clear. You don’t have to take out your headphones to hear what’s going on around you and connect with people. To switch to Awareness Mode, simply push and hold the earpiece.
Huawei has been successful in accomplishing and using Adaptive Ear Matching noise cancellation technology, which recognizes your ear shape and determines the most comfortable and optimal noise cancellation setting for any ear the buds may have to be put in.
